About
My Mission

My relational integrative therapy practice is rooted in contemporary psychodynamic theories. I believe in helping my clients make sense of their emotional distress in the context of their life and relationships. To my mind, any emotional defenses or relationship patterns keeping us stuck or causing us distress will be in play for a reason.
My job as your therapist is to help you become aware of and make sense of these defenses, alongside giving you the experience of feeling safe, seen, and heard. I find that this insight will help you to build greater compassion for and reconnect to your true self, whilst also helping you to dismantle relationship patterns and let go of defenses that no longer serve you.
My Method

Maybe you are reading this because you are finding life tough and are concerned that something is 'wrong' with you or your mental health. Or maybe you feel you would benefit from time and space to process your thoughts and feelings. You do not have to be in crisis, nor do you need to have it all figured out to be in therapy. Whatever is going on for you, I truly believe talking to someone about your concerns can be valuable and supporting.

I appreciate feeling frightened, anxious, stuck or overwhelmed and like you need or want therapy is rarely in people's life plans. Equally, talking to a stranger about your most private and precious experiences and feelings can feel overwhelming and peculiar.

It is important that we take the time to get to understand what has bought you therapy, as well as your hopes for our sessions. In doing so I hope that this will foster trust, curiosity, and openness, helping us to establish a strong therapeutic relationship.
My Practice
Counselling Psychology and Integrative Psychotherapy
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist with a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute. I am registered with the UKCP.
I have completed all professional and taught elements of my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at Metanoia, awaiting my VIVA in 2025. I hold a Master's Degree in Psychology and I am a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society.
My Experience
I have worked in private and charity mental health settings for almost a decade. I work with adults, young people, and teenagers who experience a variety of mental distress presentations including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders, OCD, self-harm, domestic abuse, sexual trauma, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, and stress.

Alongside my private practice, I continue to be part of the therapeutic team at a Young Adult and Adolescent Day Care Treatment service, specialising in supporting young people and their families with complex mental health presentations. Working in this team has emphasised the importance of taking a holistic approach to my therapeutic practice.

I have particular experience working with people who identify with experiencing of an eating disorder. I have worked at two specialist services committed to supporting clients with a range of eating disorder presentations including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, ARFID, and EDNOS.
I also dedicated 2 years of my training to working with clients who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence. My therapeutic practice is trauma informed.
My Therapeutic Approach
I am trained in humanistic, psychodynamic, and third-wave CBT modalities. I work from an integrative perspective, rooted in relational psychodynamic theories. This means I try to help my clients to make sense of their distress in the context of their life experiences and relationships.

Through my specialised training and ongoing professional development, I stay updated with the latest therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices. My expertise includes trauma-informed care and CBT-E for Eating Disorders.

In my view, the success of any therapeutic work is largely dependent upon the quality of the therapeutic relationship. My approach is always aimed at facilitating honest and real engagement with my clients, founded upon trust and openness that allows for exploration of personal and sensitive issues within a safe and confidential therapeutic space.

My Research
My doctoral thesis is centred on exploring women's experience of pleasure, an area within research that has been largely ignored. Without deeper understanding of women's experience of pleasure, I believe therapists’ knowledge of women’s psychological distress is lacking. I have a keen interest in exploring issues related to women's experiences, health, and wellbeing.
I also have a master’s degree in Psychology from Regent’s University London. My research focused on improving understanding of negative body image and eating disorders.
Further Education and Training
I have also undertaken further training in:

-
Embodying Trauma-Informed Practice
